It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Eduard Reichenow Laureate Professor Wilhelm Foissner on March 20th 2020 at the age of 71.
Professor Foissner was a leading ciliate taxonomist that contributed tremendously to the field. During his career, spanning over 50 years, Professor Foissner published more than 600 ciliate-related works. He is remembered as a vibrant and active member of our community.
He will be deeply missed.
